What is CalNet 2-Step?
2-Step is an added layer of authentication on your CalNet account. 2-Step ensures that you are the only one who can access your CalNet account. We recommend enrolling your smartphone and using Duo Push to complete the second step. It only takes a couple of minutes to set up. Don’t have a smartphone? There are lots of other options available.

You need to be enrolled in 2-Step before you can submit the iPad raffle form. You may need to wait several minutes after enrolling in 2-Step before you can enter the raffle.

The sooner you enter, the more chances you have to win an iPad. Drawings will be held throughout the summer and fall.
Why am I required to do this?
UC Berkeley’s research, intellectual property, institutional and personal data are extremely valuable and attractive to cyber criminals. The use of stolen CalNet account usernames and passphrases is the most frequent way campus systems are compromised. 2-Step protects your CalNet account from hackers who could drop you from your classes, change your grading options, or impersonate you and email others. So keep your data safe and sign up now!
