You will need to update your name in numerous places if your name changes. See the chart below for instructions based on your affiliation type. If you have multiple affiliations (such as student and employee), you will need to follow instructions for each affilition type.
If you have updated your name across all systems as indicated as below, and continue to see the old name appear, email calnet-admin@berkeley.edu with your full name, former name, and student or employee ID number.
Please note: Name changes can take several hours to a couple days to work through all campus systems.

Log into the UCPath Employee Self Service Portal at https://ucpath.universityofcalifornia.edu/. Navigate to: Employee Actions > Personal Information > Personal Information Summary > Legal Name/Name and click the down arrows for Names. Then click on Legal/Name and then Edit Legal Name/Name, and there you will see what your names are actually set to in UCPath. Edit your Name as desired, and then press OK, and then Submit. From there, you can double check that your name updated by returning to Legal Name/Name, and clicking Edit Legal Name/Name. You should see your Name changes. For Sponsored Guests
Guests cannot change the name on their existing account.
To change your name on your Guest account that uses your gmail/Google login:
- Reach out to your sponsor and have them delete your Sponsored Guest account
- Go to your personal gmail/Google account and change your name, there. Google has information on how to do this online: https://support.google.com/mail/answer/8158?hl=en
- Ask your sponsor to send you a new Sponsored Guest account invitation
To change your name on your Guest account that uses Other login
- Reach out to your sponsor and have them delete your Sponsored Guest account, and send you a new invitation
- When filling out the new account form, make sure you enter your name as you would like it to display
