Official Group Definitions

To properly utilize CalGroups auto-deprovisioning feature, make a composite Access Group using an official campus group. Find definitions of each official group, below.

  • Dept. - Includes all active employees in a department, determined by employee job record
  • Employees 
    • Academic
      • All Faculty - Includes all active employees with affiliation = Employee Type Academic, excluding academic students such as GSIs
      • All Academic - Includes all active employees with employee type = F
    • Staff
      • All Staff - Includes all active employees with employee type = S
      • Professional - unknown
      • Student - unknown
    • All Employees - Includes all active employees in the official All Academic and All Staff groups
    • Managers - Includes all active employees with Employee Relations Code = A or B
    • Supervisors - Includes all active employees with Employee Relations Code = C or D
  • Affiliates - Includes these HCM affiliate types: Academic Case Tracking, Committee Member, Contractor, HHMI Scholar Researcher, LBL DOE PostDoc, LBL OP Staff, Retiree, Staff of UC/OP/Affiliated Orgs, emporary Agency Staff, Visiting Scholar, Visiting Student Researcher, consultant, volunteers

  • All Employees and HCM Affiliates - Includes all employees and HCM affiliates (above)

  • Guests - Includes guest accounts found in ou=guests

  • Students
    • All Regular Enrolled Students - Includes all active students in the official Graduate and Undergrad groups
    • Graduate Students - Includes active graduate students with Student UG Code = G, excluding summer sessions students
    • Undergrad Students - Includes active undergraduate students with Student UG Code = U, excluding summer sessions students

  • Current-Campus-Community - Includes all active employees, students, consultants, visiting scholars, LBL or OP staff with a campus appointment, volunteers, researchers, student researchers, Post Docs, temp agency employees, committee members, staff of affiliated organizations, concurrently enrolled students and contractors
